ABOUT MAMI

Born and raised in Comerío, Puerto Rico, Mami — aka La Reina de la Cocina — brought the flavors of her island with her when she moved to New York City.

While raising nine children, she kept her Puerto Rican traditions alive in the kitchen, where every delicious dish began the same way: with sofrito.

A spoonful or two in rice, beans, soups, stews, marinades — or anything that needs a little Puerto Rican flavor.
